Home Canning – Recommended Equipment & Materials

Below are Amazon links to all the equipment and books I recommend in my Getting Started with Home Canning workshop.

*My favorites, the stuff I can’t live without, are all marked with an asterisk.

HEY! Canning jars are WAY cheaper at a local grocery store than they are online. Check out the canning section at your local grocery store or Walmart for a good deal. I would only buy on Amazon as a last resort. Check local thrift shops, garage sales or estate sales for canners and jars. Ask friends and relatives if they have some dusty old supplies in their basement. Once you have the canners, tools and a large stock of mason jars it’s a pretty cheap hobby. You’ll only need to buy more lids. You can reuse the rings and jars until they rust, bend or break.
